“Don’t let me drown”, I pleaded. Drowning with the weight of expectations, of responsibility, of unmet needs.
“Hear me as I tell you my heart”, I cried. Screaming out into the silence, a void filled with anguish, with sharp edges and endless paper cuts.
“See me as I am”, I hoped. Yearning for acceptance, for understanding, for compassion.
A thousand wishes, heartfelt and earnest.
A litany of prayers, begging and bargaining, offering anything for respite.
Endless love provided, heedless of cost.
But still the fracture came.
